Councilman Kaufer’s and his wife Stephanie have two wonderful children, Asher and Arden. They both actively participate in local events and volunteer their time with local community organizations.

Councilman Ilan Kaufer became a member of the Jupiter Town Council in 2013 and was re-elected in 2016 and 2019. He has served as Vice Mayor twice after being selected by his fellow council members for that role in 2014, 2016, and 2019. He is a graduate of the University of Florida, where he received his Juris Doctor and a Master of Forest Resources and Conservation with a focus on bio-energy. He is also a graduate of the University of Virginia, where he received his B.A. in Environmental Sciences and Politics. He is a member of the Florida Bar and Palm Beach Bar Associations, and has served on multiple Florida Bar Association’s Committees and the Palm Beach Bar Professionalism Committee. He currently works as an environmental services project manager for Florida Power and Light Company, after having previously worked for the company as a regulatory analyst and attorney.

Councilman Kaufer serves as the Council’s appointee on the Palm Beach League of Cities Board and has been selected by the Leagues’ members to serve 6 consecutive years on the Board of Directors. He also serves on the elected officials advisory board for the Women’s Foundation of Palm Beach County and has served on several committees for the Florida League of Cities. He is a graduate of Leadership Florida’s Connect Florida Statewide Leadership Institute program and Leadership Palm Beach County’s 2017 Engage program. He also serves on the Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches Board of Directors.
